A 25-year-old man was arrested early Tuesday morning after allegedly robbing a vendor inside a jeepney along MIA Road in Pasay City.

The victim, alias “Jerry,” 22, told police he was riding a jeepney near Barangay 192 around 2:30 a.m. when two men approached him as the vehicle stopped at a traffic light.

One of the suspects allegedly pointed a knife at him and grabbed his phone before escaping toward NAIA Road.

The incident was reported at around 2:50 a.m., prompting a follow-up operation that led to the suspect’s arrest by 3:40 a.m.

Recovered from the suspect was an 11-inch dagger hidden in a plastic scabbard. He initially declined to answer police questions but later revealed that the phone was with his accomplice, alias “Manok.”

The arrested man was brought to the Pasay City General Hospital for a routine medical check and is now under the custody of the Investigation and Detective Management Section.
