A 55-year-old woman was shot dead by riding-in-tandem assailants in Taytay, Rizal, on Sunday afternoon.
The victim, identified only by the alias “Ana,” was a store owner and a resident of Sitio Sapang Gody, Barangay San Juan, Taytay.
According to initial police investigation, the victim was walking alone along JP Rizal Street, Rizal Techno Park, Barangay San Juan, when two suspects on a motorcycle approached her. Armed with an unidentified firearm, they shot her in the body before fleeing the scene.
The victim was rushed to a nearby hospital but was declared dead on arrival.
Authorities are currently investigating the incident to identify the suspects and determine the motive behind the killing.
Police are also reviewing CCTV footage from the area. The perpetrators were reportedly wearing black helmets. The back rider was dressed in a blue jersey and maong pants, while the driver wore a black long-sleeved shirt.
