The National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) has deployed 5,344 police personnel across Metro Manila to ensure the safe return of students to school on 16 June.
The deployment spans 1,206 public and private schools, reinforcing a comprehensive and coordinated police presence in the region.
A total of 1,429 officers have been assigned to man police assistance desks positioned near campuses. These are supported by tactical motorcycle riding units, covert teams, and EOD/K9 teams to deter criminal elements and respond swiftly to emergencies.
The NCRPO also deployed 1,135 mobile patrol units and 1,731 foot patrol officers across the five police districts and the regional mobile force battalion, maintaining 24/7 visibility in and around schools as well as in high-traffic and risk-prone areas.
The Southern Police District logged the highest number of deployed personnel with 1,612 officers, followed by the Northern Police District with 1,240, and the Manila Police District with 955.
Police officials have been coordinating closely with school administrators through safety meetings and area assessments in the lead-up to the reopening of classes.
Beyond the Balik-Eskwela initiative, the NCRPO said it remains committed to maintaining a recalibrated police visibility strategy to ensure continuous and strategic deployment in public spaces.
