The 14-year-old student who fatally stabbed his 13-year-old classmate over P10 in change was a victim of bullying, which allegedly led him to purchase the weapon online, police said Tuesday.

National Capital Region Police Office (NCRPO) spokesperson Police Maj. Hazel Asilo said the child in conflict with the law has undergone inquest proceedings for murder charges and is currently in the custody of Bahay Pag-asa.

“Based on his statement during questioning by our women’s desk officers, he was trying to avoid people or had prior incidents of bullying, though he did not specify who was bullying him,” Asilo said.

She added that the suspect bought the knife online using his own name and had it delivered to his family’s home.
