The Department of Justice (DOJ) assured the public on Monday that it continuously provides guidance and directives to the Bureau of Immigration (BI) to strictly follow the President’s orders.
Justice Assistant Secretary and spokesperson Atty. Mico Clavano made the statement amid corruption allegations against BI employees linked to Commissioner Joel Anthony Viado.
“The public can be assured that the DOJ has consistently guided and instructed the Bureau of Immigration to adhere not only to the letter but also to the spirit of the President’s directive,” Clavano said in response to questions from the DAILY TRIBUNE.
He also urged the public not to exploit the political climate to advance personal agendas.
