Muntinlupa City has launched a free medicine delivery program for senior citizens aged 80 and above, as well as bedridden residents aged 60 and older.
The initiative, dubbed RIDE Med (Responsive Integrated Delivery of Essential Medicines), aims to provide easier access to maintenance medications for those with limited mobility, according to Mayor Ruffy Biazon.
Eligible seniors will receive monthly deliveries of prescribed medicines such as Losartan, Amlodipine, Metformin, and Atorvastatin—commonly used to manage hypertension, diabetes, and high cholesterol. Deliveries will be handled by designated riders accompanied by a barangay health worker.
To register, a caregiver or relative can sign up the senior at their local barangay health center. Home registration is also available through program hotlines.
Biazon said seniors who don’t qualify for home delivery may still obtain free maintenance medication through the city’s “Love Ko si Lolo, Love Ko si Lola” program by claiming them at health centers.
The city government described RIDE Med as part of broader efforts to improve healthcare access for vulnerable groups.
