Maxim Rides & Food Delivery has started operating in Dumaguete City, where residents can now book tricycle rides, delivery trips and “pabili” requests through its mobile app.

Customers can arrange a tricycle pickup from their preferred location instead of walking to a terminal or waiting along a regular route. The app shows the fare before the trip starts, based on the pickup point and destination entered by the passenger.

The service gives commuters another option for short trips around the city, particularly those who need door-to-door transport. Tricycle driver-partners may still serve their regular passengers and follow their usual routes while accepting bookings through the platform.

Maxim also offers delivery and pabili services for groceries, meals, documents, parcels and other items. Service fees start at P10, although the final amount may depend on the distance and type of request.

The “pabili” feature allows customers to ask a driver-partner to buy an item on their behalf and bring it to their location. This may help residents who cannot leave home or need to complete an errand during a busy day.

Local stores and food businesses may also use the delivery service to reach customers without maintaining their own fleet. The lower starting fee could make the platform useful for smaller establishments that handle only a limited number of deliveries each day.

The app includes real-time trip tracking, an SOS button and 24-hour customer support. Passengers and driver-partners can communicate through calls and chat within the app without showing their personal phone numbers.

Maxim assigns available requests to driver-partners near the pickup point. This system can reduce the distance a driver must travel before collecting a passenger or delivery, which may help save fuel and shorten waiting times.

Driver-partners may choose which bookings to accept. The arrangement gives them room to work around their regular schedules instead of relying only on app-based requests.

Shem Ehurango, head of Maxim Dumaguete, said the company wants to improve daily transport in the city while creating more earning opportunities for local drivers.

He added that the tricycle, “pabili” and delivery services could make routine trips and errands easier for residents while helping businesses serve more customers.

The company is also licensed as a transport network company for pre-arranged car rides. It takes part in motorcycle taxi pilot operations in Metro Manila and Cagayan de Oro.

Its Dumaguete expansion places familiar local transport on a booking platform while keeping tricycle drivers connected to the passengers and routes they already serve.
