    • Muntinlupa Police
    • Illegal firearm arrest

Officers from the Muntinlupa City Police Station arrested an armed man and seized an unlicensed firearm late Saturday night following a report from a concerned citizen in Barangay Bayanan.

Personnel from the Putatan Police Sub-Station responded around 11 p.m. to a telephone report about a man openly carrying a firearm while walking around the PNR Site in Sunrise Subdivision. The man's actions had caused alarm among local residents.

Upon arriving at the scene, responding officers apprehended the suspect, identified by police as alias Adriano, a 29-year-old unemployed resident of UP Side Subdivision, Barangay Alabang.

Police recovered an Armscor .38-caliber revolver with a defaced serial number, one live round of .38-caliber ammunition, and a brown Gucci sling bag used to transport the weapon.

Authorities are preparing charges against the suspect for violating Republic Act 10591, the Comprehensive Firearms and Ammunition Regulation Act.
