Three people were killed in a multiple-vehicle crash along the Batasan-San Mateo Road in Quezon City late Wednesday night.
According to police reports, the incident occurred at around 11:30 PM when a truck lost its brakes and slammed into two motorcycles, a car, and an AUV. The truck was reportedly en route to Rizal province when the driver lost control.
The 38-year-old truck driver is currently in police custody. He claimed that a brake malfunction caused him to lose control of the vehicle.
Authorities have yet to release the names of the victims pending notification of their families. An investigation into the crash is ongoing.
