Wounded Filipino soldiers now have access to world-class medical care at the newly inaugurated Bagong Bayaning Mandirigma Casualty Care Center (BBM CCC) at the Armed Forces of the Philippines Medical Center in Quezon City. The facility, a product of collaboration between the One Meralco Foundation, the Congressional Spouses Foundation Inc., PLDT-Smart Foundation, and Metro Pacific Investments Foundation, is equipped with a minor operating room, trauma and wound care center, and patients' wards that can serve up to 405 individuals each month.

"This is a step forward in ensuring intangible commitment to our men and women in uniform, especially those injured. This casualty care center stands as a symbol of cooperation between the public and private sectors, working shoulder to shoulder to provide our service members with the medical care they rightfully deserve," said Meralco and OMF Chairman Manuel V. Pangilinan during the launch.

The project is part of a two-phase initiative, with the second phase — the Cancer Care Center — expected to open by mid-2025. The Makati Medical Center Foundation is also extending its support for the expansion. According to OMF President Jeffrey O. Tarayao, “Our mission to spread light and hope includes those who also bring us security and peace in times of uncertainties.”

Brigadier General Jonna D. Dalaguit, commander of the AFP Medical Center, called the BBM CCC a testament to what collaboration can achieve for the country’s protectors. House Speaker Ferdinand Martin G. Romualdez described the project as “a lifeline” that guarantees continued care for frontline defenders.

The Congressional Spouses Foundation, led by Representative Yedda K. Romualdez and CSFI President Rosemary “Baby” Arenas, said the partnership marks a shared vision of improving military healthcare and offers assurance that Filipino soldiers will be in capable hands when they need help the most.
