Farming is a precision business. Livestock feeding, for one, is calculated for optimum costing, animal nutrition and profit. That is why technology comes in handy to make the process accurate, convenient and efficient.
For Aboitiz Foods unit Pilmico Feeds, its Zoogle app does the work for both the company’s sales teams and customers when it comes to livestock management. The technology has transformed access to comprehensive information, making the once tedious task of flipping through pages of notes into a simple process that requires just a few clicks.
Zoogle’s functions include guiding farmers on proper feeding of hog, rabbit, broiler, layer chickens, duck and quail.
The app recommends feeding schedules and best practices. It enables users to calculate relevant farm performance metrics, assist in monitoring and improve feeding efficiency.
While powered by WiFi, Zoogle can function offline to allow users in remote areas to access essential feeding information anytime or during unstable Internet signal.
“As we expand Pilmico Feeds’ portfolio to explore new markets and opportunities within the livestock industry, it’s essential to provide our frontliners with the right tools to stay updated on key knowledge — whether it’s about our products or farm management practices,” Alvin John Oliveros, DVM, product development manager (NITR) of Aboitiz Foods, said.
“Embracing technology and having a data-driven mindset is essential to becoming a Techglomerate. With Zoogle, we can provide data-driven technical support to our customers, offering automatic computation features that reduce human errors,” he added.
Zoogle is as beneficial to Pilmico Feeds’ sales teams as to farmers because it promotes customer engagement by letting them manage clients’ concerns while helping them with reporting.
Pilmico’s Nutrition, Innovation & Technical Research (NITR) team and Aboitiz Foods’ Business IT Solutions co-developed the Zoogle.
The app demonstrates how Aboitiz Foods integrates animal production with technology, and bridges traditional agri-food practices with modern innovation.
