The Commission on Elections (Comelec Baguio City facilitated the conduct of the Local Absentee Voting (LAV) for cadets of all ranks at the Philippine Military Academy (PMA) on 28 April 2025.
According to Baguio City Election Supervisor John Paul Martin, more than 400 cadets are expected to participate in the LAV at Fort del Pilar, PMA, Baguio City. Martin added that other PMA personnel also took part in the voting process.
Martin further noted that they will also supervise the conduct of LAV among personnel of the Baguio City Police Office (BCPO) at its headquarters along Abanao Street.
The COMELEC has approved a total of 57,689 voters for the LAV. This figure includes 29,030 Armed Forces personnel, 23,448 members of the national police, 4,206 government employees, and 1,005 members of the media. LAV voters are entitled to vote for 12 senators and one party-list organization using automated counting machines (ACMs), but they are not allowed to vote for local candidates in their respective areas.
Meanwhile, Martin confirmed that the official ballots for the City of Baguio are expected to arrive on 30 April 2025.
