Pasig City mayoral candidate Ate Sara Discaya is eyeing the underground installation of power lines to address dangling or so-called “spaghetti wires” if elected in the upcoming midterm elections.
Discaya said she plans to make Barangay Bagong Katipunan, one of the smallest barangays in Pasig, a model for the project.
"Isang napansin ko dito sa Barangay Bagong Katipunan, magandang gawan kayo ng model project dito sa barangay nyo, kasi nakita ko parang madaming spaghetti dito," she said during a public caucus in Barangay Bagong Katipunan on Tuesday evening.
"Maganda kung wala na 'yang spaghetti na 'yan, itago na natin 'yang spaghetti na 'yan. Ilalagay na natin sa ilalim ng ground para wala na tayong mga wires na ganyan, pangit tingnan eh. Okay ba 'yan sa inyo?" she asked local constituents.
Discaya emphasized that she can deliver on the project based on her experience as a builder and developer.
"Kayang kaya namin 'yan, kasi based sa experience namin bilang builder at developer, madami kaming proyektong nagagawa," said the 48-year-old businesswoman who owns a quadruple-A construction firm.
"Hindi kami pwedeng mangako na hindi namin kayang gawin,"she added.
