Senatorial candidate and Makati Mayor Abby Binay has gained the endorsement of Pampanga Governor Dennis Pineda, Vice Governor Lilia Pineda, and other local officials, as she pledged to prioritize key issues affecting Filipinos, including the availability of free maintenance medicines for all.
Binay received the endorsement during the fourth and final rally organized by the Alyansa Para sa Bagong Pilipinas in Pampanga. The rally, which saw strong support from local leaders and residents, marked a significant moment in her campaign.
In her speeches, Binay expressed deep gratitude to Pampanga’s residents for their unwavering support. She also laid out her main advocacies if elected to the Senate. Among these were the provision of free maintenance medicines, particularly for senior citizens, an enhanced day care program, and advocating for the tax exemption of overtime pay, 13th month, and other bonuses for Filipino workers.
Binay emphasized the importance of focusing on early childhood education to ensure that children are prepared for academic success. “Dapat tutukan ang mga day care centers natin dahil kailangan maliit pa lang, bago pa tumuntong sa Grade 1, mahilig nang magbasa, marunong na ng konting Math. Pagdating sa Grade 3, dapat marunong nang magbasa, magaling na sa English at Math,” she said.
The senator hopeful also vowed to push for tax-exempt overtime pay, 13th month pay, and bonuses, which she believes would increase the financial stability of Filipino families. She argued that these measures would directly impact workers' take-home pay, improving their overall financial security.
At the rally, Binay was joined by other local officials, including Congresswoman Anna York Bondoc-Sagum, Congressman Carmelo "Jon" Lazatin II, and provincial board members of Pampanga.
