Manila Electric Co. (Meralco), the country’s largest power distributor, has assured customers of stable and continuous electricity service throughout the Holy Week, with crews on standby for any power-related concerns.
“We join the nation in observing a solemn and safe Holy Week,” Meralco Vice President and Head of Corporate Communications Joe R. Zaldarriaga said on Tuesday.
“As a 24/7 service provider, we assure our customers that our crews are fully prepared to respond to any power-related concerns that may arise,” he added.
Meralco has asked the public to practice electrical safety and energy efficiency, such as unplugging unused appliances, avoiding “octopus connections,” keeping cords away from rugs, and keeping devices away from water sources.
Likewise, it encouraged customers to use the Appliance Calculator on the My Meralco app to monitor power use.
Meralco Business Centers will be closed from 17 to 20 April but will resume operations on 21 April.
