Isuzu Philippines Corporation (IPC) drew quite the crowd at this year’s Manila International Auto Show (MIAS), unveiling the new 2025 Isuzu mu-X for the first time in public. The debut happened at the World Trade Center in Pasay City, where Isuzu rolled out a fresh, more dynamic display that signaled a renewed direction for the brand — still tough, still dependable, but with a sharper, more modern edge.
This year’s MIAS exhibit saw IPC stepping beyond tradition with a showcase that emphasized bold design, cutting-edge technology, and the enduring strength of Isuzu’s commercial vehicle legacy. The refreshed branding and presentation resonated with both loyal Isuzu customers and new audiences, demonstrating IPC’s commitment to evolving with the times while maintaining the core values of durability, reliability, and performance.
At the forefront of Isuzu’s presentation was the award-winning Isuzu D-MAX, recently recognized at the 2024-2025 Auto Focus Media’s Choice Awards for Best Engine Performance and Best Value for Money. A consistent favorite in the pick-up segment, the D-MAX remains a benchmark for pick-up trucks that combine robust engineering with excellent fuel economy and everyday utility, embodying the DNA of Isuzu’s trusted truck heritage.
The spotlight, however, belonged to the newly launched 2025 Isuzu mu-X, which made its first public appearance at MIAS following a successful media launch last week. The new mu-X immediately attracted the attention of families, adventure seekers, and car enthusiasts alike, earning its place as one of the major highlights of the event.
“We are very happy to introduce the new 2025 Isuzu mu-X to the public through this year’s MIAS. We really want a big audience to view this unit and test drive it so that our customers will get a first-hand experience in its improved driving performance,” Mikio Tsukui, IPC president, said.
The 2025 Isuzu mu-X presents a bold new aesthetic with a dynamic exterior redesign that enhances both form and function. Its new front grille and aerodynamic bumper incorporate an “Air Curtain” system, reducing wind drag and cabin noise to improve comfort and fuel efficiency. The new rear combination lamps, styled with an elegant embrace line, and the 20-inch Dynamic Turbine Design Alloy Wheels, elevate the mu-X’s road presence to a premium level.
Inside, the mu-X boasts an all-black leather interior accented with piano black finishes and blue ambient lighting, providing a refined and luxurious atmosphere. Available in both the RZ4E and 3.0L Blue Power engine variants, the new mu-X caters to a range of customer preferences, whether for efficient urban driving or more demanding off-road adventures.
The new model also introduces a significant leap in safety with the latest generation of Isuzu’s Advanced Driver Assist System. Upgraded with the Gen4 SMART Duo Camera, the system now features an expanded 120-degree field of view and a 120-meter forward detection range, offering drivers enhanced awareness and protection on the road.
