3 CL destinations among WTA nominees

CITY OF SAN FERNANDO, Pampanga — Three destinations in Central Luzon were nominated in the World Travel Awards (WTA) 2025.

In a statement released by the Department of Tourism (DoT) Region 3 Office on Saturday, Central Luzon earned nominations in three distinguished categories in the said prestigious awards.

DoT Regional director Richard Daenos said, “These nominations highlight the region’s excellence in nature, culture, and business tourism, and we need your support to make them a reality!”

The first is the Province of Aurora, nominated as Asia’s Leading Regional Nature Destination.

“A haven for nature enthusiasts, Aurora is renowned for its pristine landscapes, diverse ecosystems, and commitment to sustainable tourism,” Daenos said.

Next is the City of San Fernando, Pampanga, as the Asia’s Leading Cultural City Destination.

“Known as the ‘Christmas Capital of the Philippines,’ San Fernando is a hub of rich cultural heritage and vibrant traditions that continue to captivate visitors from across the globe,” he said.

Lastly is the Clark Freeport Zone nominated as the Asia’s Leading Meetings and Conference Destination.

Daenos said that Clark is a dynamic business and leisure destination, adding that Clark offers state-of-the-art facilities, world-class infrastructure, and an ideal environment for hosting international conferences and events.

The official urged the Filipino masses to vote for the three areas.

“Voting is now open and will run until August 31, 2025. Voters must create an account at https://www.worldtravelawards.com/vote to be able to choose Aurora, City of San Fernando, and Clark Freeport Zone to win in its respective categories,” he added.

He cited that these prestigious nominations are a testament to the exceptional tourism offerings of Central Luzon.

“Your vote is crucial in helping us achieve this milestone. Let’s showcase the best of our region to the world!”
