Emerging artist BAN, whose real name is Brandon Yulo Baculo, is taking a brave leap into the world of music as he releases his debut single “Magparaya” under Old School Records, a label under ABS-CBN Music.

Filled with both excitement and nerves, the 22-year-old artist shared how surreal it feels to begin his journey as a recording artist.

“It’s nerve-wracking and exciting at the same time, but I’m always hoping for the positive. I really hope the listeners appreciate the music I’ll be putting out,” BAN expressed.

Before stepping into the recording booth, BAN made his mark in the industry as a model for various brand campaigns and music videos. His distinct sound is influenced by contemporary OPM icons such as Arthur Nery and Zack Tabudlo, artists known for their emotional and relatable storytelling.

BAN’s debut track, “Magparaya,” is a heartfelt alternative pop song that explores the complexities of love and emotional healing. Written by Gab Tagadtad and produced by renowned hitmaker Kiko “Kikx” Salazar, the single narrates the story of someone who has chosen to prioritize self-love after a painful relationship — only to find themselves unexpectedly ready to fall in love again.

“It’s about someone who went through trauma in a past relationship and decided to focus on self-love. But then, someone new comes along and makes them realize they’re ready to give love another chance,” BAN shared.

“Magparaya” is now streaming on all major music platforms, inviting listeners to reflect on the courage it takes to let go, heal, and love again.
