Abby Binay secures Zamboanga Del Sur endorsement, outlines Senate agenda

Senatorial candidate and Makati Mayor Abby Binay secured the endorsement of Zamboanga del Sur Governor Victor Yu during her visit to Pagadian City on Saturday, 5 April 2025, where she met with local political leaders and supporters.

At the event, Governor Yu and Mayor Macario Tingson of Tukuran Municipality publicly raised Binay’s hand, signaling their support for her senatorial bid. Binay recalled her past experiences working with Governor Yu during their time in Congress, further solidifying their bond.

Following the endorsement, Binay traveled to Dipolog City to attend the Kuyog Ta! Grand Proclamation Rally. The rally was led by Dipolog City Mayor Darel Dexter Uy, who is running for governor of Zamboanga del Norte.

Binay’s visit to Dipolog City was preceded by a warm welcome at the airport from Mayor Uy, Alpha Phi Omega (APO) Dipolog City leader Jay Adraincem, and their supporters.

During her campaign, Binay emphasized three key priorities if elected to the Senate: providing free maintenance medicines, strengthening early childhood education, and implementing tax-free overtime pay, bonuses, and incentives for both government and private sector workers.
