The World Boxing Council (WBC) has appointed Hong Kong’s Raymond Chang as referee for this Sunday’s minimumweight title clash featuring defending champion Melvin Jerusalem and Japanese challenger Yudai Shigeoka at the Aichi Sky Expo in Tokomane.

The three judges are Joseph Gwilt of England, Chris Tellez of the United States and Tawuth Pluemsamran of Thailand.

Aku Zhang of China is the fight supervisor.

This will be Jerusalem’s second defense of the WBC 105-lb crown he had taken from Shigeoka at around this same time last year in Nagoya.

In his first defense last September, Jerusalem easily beat mandatory challenger Luis Castillo via a lopsided 12-round decision.

Jerusalem enters the scheduled 12-rounder with a 23-3-0 win-loss-draw record with 12 knockouts while the southpaw Shigeoka parades a 9-1-0 with five knockouts.

A native of Manolo Fortich in Bukidnon, Jerusalem is one of just two reigning Filipino world boxing champions. The other is fellow 105-pounder Pedro Taduran, the champion in the World Boxing Council.
