Actress Ruffa Gutierrez took to social media to announce that she had declined an invitation to attend the Senate hearing on "fake news."
In her statement, Gutierrez explained that she had prior commitments and preferred to focus on more meaningful matters instead of engaging in political discourse.
"To my concerned friends and fans who have been reaching out—yes, I was invited to attend this hearing but politely declined, not only due to a prior commitment but also because I choose not to be politically involved, even as I remain a target of fake news and misinformation," she stated.
Despite her decision not to attend, Gutierrez expressed her support in combating misinformation, acknowledging that the entertainment industry is often a primary target of fake news. As someone who has personally experienced its effects, she assured the public of her willingness to cooperate in efforts to address the issue.
"At the end of the day, truth prevails. I remain dedicated to my work in the entertainment industry, which I truly love, with grace and purpose," she added.
She concluded her message by emphasizing the importance of focusing on what truly matters in life.
"Let’s focus on what truly matters—integrity, growth, and the things that bring light into our lives. Have a blessed Tuesday! Xx," she wrote.
