Actress and wellness advocate Maxene Magalona has opened up about her personal healing journey, emphasizing how meditation and mindfulness have transformed her life.

In an interview with the DAILY TRIBUNE during the inauguration of Nuwhite's What Makes You Glow photo exhibit over the weekend, she shared how prioritizing her well-being has given her a deeper understanding of herself.

“I’m super happy and at peace. That’s the feeling I have now,” Magalona expressed. “For the past couple of years, I’ve been focusing on my healing and myself.”

As she continues to evolve, Magalona has become more intentional about the decisions she makes—both in her career and personal life. Unlike before, when she took on projects solely for work, she now ensures that every opportunity aligns with her values and personal growth.

“I’ve been getting offers for shows, but sometimes the roles don’t really resonate with me, or the schedule doesn’t fit,” she explained. “I’m also teaching yoga and meditation now, and that’s my priority. Any work I accept has to align with who I am today.”

For Magalona, practicing and teaching yoga has been a deeply fulfilling experience. She designs her classes with her younger self in mind, helping others, especially young women and men, navigate their own journeys of self-discovery.

“It makes me so happy because the classes I create are what I wish I had when I was younger,” she said. “It gives me a sense of purpose—knowing that I’m doing something to help others find themselves.”

While she acknowledges that healing is an ongoing process, she finds fulfillment in living in the present and embracing life without regrets.

“You can never say that you’re fully healed because we are always growing and evolving,” she reflected. “What’s most fulfilling for me is accepting each moment as it comes.”

Magalona also spoke about the importance of surrounding oneself with people who bring peace and positivity. She expressed gratitude for her best friend, Geoff, who has been a source of happiness and support.

“I don’t want to make any official announcements, but Geoff is my best friend, and I want to keep some things private and sacred,” she shared. “I just want to spend time with people who make me feel safe—whether it’s a partner, family, or friends. Geoff does that for me.”

According to Magalona, true connections are built on acceptance and understanding.

“It’s so important to find people who really see you, who don’t try to change you, and just let you be who you are,” she said. “Jeff is one of the best people I’ve ever met, and I wish everyone could find their own people.”

As she continues her journey, Magalona encourages others to be patient and trust the process of life.

“Patience makes the fruit sweeter,” she advised. “You don’t have to chase—just attract. Work on yourself, do things that are pleasing to God, and trust that He will reward you in His own time.”

With a heart full of gratitude and a life dedicated to mindfulness, Magalona is proof that healing and happiness come from within.
