NORTHERN MINDANAO — The Province of Bukidnon launches its Kaamulan Festival, Friday, 21 March, promising bigger than last year’s celebration, the Department of Tourism, here, announced.
DoT Regional Director Marie Elaine Unchuan told Daily Tribune that the Kaamulan grounds in Malaybalay have become lively and full of shopping provisions for local and foreign tourists.
“Kaamulan Festival runs from 21 March to 12 April when the Street Dance Competition is held, and we are looking forward to this year’s Kaamulan Festival in Bukidnon to be grand by promoting it well with highlights on April, when the DoT Regional Directors’ Meeting — all 16 RDs — will be here in Bukidnon.”
This early, Unchuan said, hotel accommodations are already full, so, tourists who intend to come must prepare to stay on tents or relatives and friends’ houses.
This year’s Kaamulan Festival comes with the DoT-10 promotion concept via Digital Nomad Tourism and Tourism Circuit in the neighboring Misamis Oriental province, where internet Infrastructure for tourists without office bases are made available, so they can work while on tour by giving them remote work opportunities in isolated areas.
Among the areas being looked into to adopt this in Northern Mindanao include the towns of Magsaysay and Medina in Misamis Oriental, where Core Working Spaces for Tourism will be provided with strong internet connections.
