Former police general and investigator of the defunct Independent Commission for Infrastructure (ICI), Rodolfo Azurin, is now an undersecretary of the Department of Tourism (DoT).
Azurin was recently sworn in by Tourism Secretary Dita Angara-Mathay on 4 August at the DoT office in Makati City.
The DoT said Azurin will lead the DoT’s “Visitor Safety and Security initiatives.”
“Drawing on his decades of experience in public service, law enforcement, and public safety, Undersecretary Azurin will work closely with national government agencies, local government units, law enforcement authorities, and tourism stakeholders to help ensure that the Philippines remains a safe, secure, and welcoming destination for all visitors,” the DoT said in a statement.
