Former senator Francis “Kiko” Pangilinan, who is seeking to return to the Senate, kicked off his Capiz campaign on Monday with a breakfast meeting and courtesy call on the One Capiz slate led by Vice Governor James Magbanua, Roxas City Mayor Ronnie Dadivas, Paolo Roxas and 1st District Board Member Thea Faith Reyes.
After an interview over Baskog Radio, Pangilinan visited the Lipunan Public Market for a market run with volunteers. He then made a brief stop in Altavas, Aklan, where he was warmly welcomed.
In Kalibo, Pangilinan met with volunteers and supporters from the Leni-Kiko, Robredo People’s Council and Kiko-Bam groups, led by Vice Mayor Cynthia dela Cruz. He paid a courtesy call on Capiz Governor Fredenil Castro, who endorsed his candidacy.
He then made a brief stop in Altavas, Aklan, where he was warmly welcomed.
Pangilinan made an unscheduled stop at Capiz State University where he reaffirmed his commitment to strengthen higher education. As one of the principal authors of Republic Act 9273, which converted the Panay State Polytechnic College into CAPSU, Pangilinan reiterated his support for the university’s continued growth and development.
