Jodi Sta. Maria is set to mark another milestone in her career with Untold, her first horror film under Regal Films. Initially believed to be her fifth horror project, the actress clarified that it is actually her fourth venture into the genre — one she eagerly embraced for its psychological depth and thought-provoking themes.
Building anticipation for its release, Regal Films recently unveiled the official trailer for Untold on social media, confirming that the film will hit cinemas nationwide on 30 April.
Unlike her past horror films, including Clarita (2019), which focused on supernatural elements, Untold explores the psychological horrors within human nature. It raises profound questions about morality, choices, and the sacrifices people are willing to make.
Sta. Maria believes the film stands out due to its layered storytelling. While categorized as horror, she describes it as a film that will challenge audiences to confront their inner demons.
The movie’s tagline, "Matakot ka sa sarili mo," encapsulates its core theme, reflecting the hidden fears and suppressed truths people often deny.
Joining Sta. Maria in Untold are Kaori Oinuma, Juan Karlos Labajo, and Gloria Diaz. The film is helmed by director Derick Cabrido, known for Clarita, promising an intense and introspective cinematic experience that will leave audiences both unsettled and deeply engaged.
