The Department of Environment and Natural Resources (DENR) — through its Water Resources Management Office (WRMO) — recently opened the ‘Wag Pataksaya Hotline for water-related concerns from the public to help facilitate proper action from the concerned water service provider.
According to DENR Undersecretary for Integrated Environmental Science and concurrent WRMO Head Dr. Carlos Primo C. David, the hotline is an automated system that will bridge consumers to their water service providers, ensuring concerns reach the right authorities and the appropriate WSP in their area efficiently, promptly and accurately.
As the lead coordinating body of the water sector, the WRMO can refer concerns to DENR-attached agencies —MWSS for Metro Manila, Water Districts for regional town services, and the National Water Resources Board for private sector WSPs.
“Consumers can send us any concern, from meter readings to billing issues and water interruptions, and we will follow through with their concerns until they are addressed and resolved,” David said.
He also clarified that WRMO does not directly handle water-related issues or provide direct water services or repair services, but will assist in expediting the concerns brought to their office.
To file concerns, the public may fill out the National Water Service Online Form, which has a tracking number that can be used to check the status or progress of the concern with the WRMO.
