Los Angeles-based Filipino-American actor, singer, dancer, and musician Vincent Rodriguez III is set to captivate audiences in Manila with a special one-night-only performance on 6 March 2025.

Titled An Intimate Evening with Vincent Rodriguez III, the event will be a celebration of music, dance, storytelling, and a touch of magic. Hosted by DMH Mendoza Productions (DMHM) in collaboration with Broadway producers Don Michael H. Mendoza and Lora Nicolas Olaes (Here Lies Love, SMASH), the evening will offer fans a rare opportunity to witness Rodriguez’s artistry up close at 12 Monkeys, Estancia Mall, Pasig City.

In an exclusive interview with DAILY TRIBUNE, Rodriguez shared insights about his career, his Filipino heritage, and what fans can expect from his Manila performance.

“The show is about sharing my journey — not just as an actor, but as a person. Many don’t know where I came from or how I ended up playing Josh Chan in Crazy Ex-Girlfriend,” he said, referring to his groundbreaking role in the Golden Globe and Emmy-winning musical comedy series.

Rodriguez made history as the first Filipino romantic lead in a US network TV show, an experience that shaped his advocacy for diversity and representation in Hollywood.

“Being an out gay man playing a straight Filipino lead on mainstream TV was both an honor and a challenge. It opened doors for me and gave me a platform to share my story. That’s what I want to do in this show — connect with the audience in a way they haven’t seen before,“ he said.

Rodriguez, who hasn’t visited the Philippines since childhood, is also looking forward to reconnecting with his roots.

“I’ve never really been to the Philippines in a way that I can remember,” he admitted. “Since Crazy Ex-Girlfriend, I’ve been wanting to visit. I feel like I’ve been disconnected for too long, and now, it’s time to change that.”

Of course, his return wouldn’t be complete without indulging in Filipino cuisine. “My gosh, I want to eat everything,” he joked.

While many recognize Rodriguez from the musical comedy that launched his career, he has continued to flourish. He’s played Henry Cruz in Prime Video’s With Love and Zian Harrelson in Hallmark Channel’s Christmas on Cherry Lane — two roles that prominently feature Filipino men in loving LGBTQ+ relationships on mainstream television.

Off-screen, Rodriguez is a passionate advocate for diversity, equity, and neurodiversity, making him a powerful voice in the entertainment industry.

Presented by DMH Mendoza Productions, An Intimate Evening with Vincent Rodriguez III will be a one-of-a-kind performance blending live music, dance, personal stories, and surprises. The event takes place on Thursday, 6 March 2025, at 12 Monkeys, Estancia Mall, Capitol Commons, Pasig City.
