Three people were killed, while another was injured in a head-on collision involving two motorcycles in Morong, Rizal early Saturday morning.
A witness said the two motorcycles were traveling in opposite directions at the time of the collision. The accident occurred along Sitio Libis National Road, Barangay CCL, at about 12 a.m.
A Yamaha Aerox motorcycle, driven by Patrick Abuyan San Miguel, was traveling from Morong town proper towards Baras, while a Honda Click motorcycle, driven by Domingo Rigunay Jr., was heading from Baras towards Morong.
Upon reaching the accident site, the Honda Click attempted to overtake vehicles, resulting in a head-on collision with Aerox at the center of the road.
The Yamaha Aerox driver was pronounced dead on arrival at the Rizal Provincial Hospital System in Morong. His back rider, identified as Marquis Evan Macarulay Sales, also died upon arrival at Margarito A. Duavit Memorial Hospital in Binangonan.
The Honda Click driver was brought to Amang Rodriguez Memorial Medical Center in Marikina City for treatment. His back rider, identified as King Cyrus Capuz, was pronounced dead on arrival at the Rizal Provincial Hospital System.
Both vehicles sustained severe damage.
