The Philippine Health Insurance Corporation (PhilHealth) on Tuesday reminded the public of its benefit package for dengue incident amid the rising cases reported by the Department of Health (DoH).
In a statement, the PhilHealth disclosed that coverage for severe dengue hospitalization has increased from P16,000 to P47,000, while coverage for mild dengue cases is now P19,500, up from P10,000.
The new package rates are among those enhanced last year, in line with President Ferdinand Marcos Jr.’s directive to continually improve health insurance coverage for members.
While PhilHealth covers hospitalization benefits, PhilHealth president and CEO Edwin M. Mercado advised practicing preventive measures and seeking early consultation, especially if experiencing dengue symptoms — high fever, severe headache, pains behind the eyes, muscle and joint pain, nausea and vomiting and skin rash.
“If you feel symptoms of dengue or any illness, go immediately to your chosen Konsulta Package Provider. The Konsulta Package is readily available to all members and their dependents. It is free of charge,” Mercado said.
