The Philippine national women’s football team is set to fly to China in April to compete in the CFA International Women’s Football Tournament.

The Filipinas will compete in this four-team tournament that will also see the participation of the host, Thailand, and Zambia as they prepare for upcoming tournaments this year.

As part of its buildup, the Philippines will conduct a nine-day training camp in Manila starting on Monday.

FIFA Women’s World Cup veterans Sarina Bolden and Hali Long banner the 32-player training camp that will be highlighted by an intrasquad match at the Mall of Asia football field on 25 February.

The Filipinas are set to defend its ASEAN Women’s Championship in June in Indonesia.

From 23 June to 5 July, the Filipinas are set to compete in the Asian Football Confederation Women’s Asian Cup qualifiers with the venue yet to be announced.

Ending the year for the Filipinas is the 33rd Southeast Asian Games in December in Thailand.

The Philippines looks to redeem itself after an early elimination in Cambodia back in 2023.

Filipinas head coach Mark Torcaso said they want to have a big pool of players so they can assess which players will make the best team for the upcoming tournaments.

“So this is a big year and we want to make sure that we’re prepared and we want to make sure we’ve got as many players as possible,” Torcaso said.
