Among Davao City’s first peoples, the Ata make up one of its 11 tribes.

Known as the “people of the mountains,” the Ata make their home in the upland areas of Paquibato, Talaingod, Bukidnon, among other places.

Emylyn Armodia, a topnotcher in the 2022 licensure exam for teachers, is advocating for the establishment of a community-based Cultural Heritage Museum (Baloi to Koupianan) in Paquibato, for the preservation and promotion of the tangible and intangible cultural heritage of her tribe.
