PCSO releases medical assistive devices, wheelchairs

The Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office (PCSO) has turned over 50 units of wheelchairs, 20 pieces of thermal scanners and 20 pieces of pulse oximeters to the Cooperative (COO) NATCCO Partylist at the PCSO Conservatory Building in Mandaluyong City.

Assistant general manager for Charity Sector Arnel N. Casas turned over the equipment to Mr. Gerardo Esnares, representative of Coop-NATCCO Partylist. They will be given to persons with disabilities, according to Esnares.

On the same day, AGM Casas also distributed 50 wheelchairs to the office of Senator Ramon “Bong” Revilla Jr., Representative John Bengco received the items, which will also be provided for their senior citizen and PWD beneficiaries.

The PCSO’s Corporate Social Responsibility Program enables the Agency to provide qualified LGUs and other civic groups with medical assistive devices, such as wheelchairs, walkers, crutches and canes and medical supplies such as thermal scanners and pulse oximeters.

In another event, the PCSO donated 300 Go-bags to the Municipality of Jose Pangangiban, Camarines Norte through its Corporate Social Responsibility Program on last 20 January at the PCSO Conservatory Building, Mandaluyong.

Arnel N. Casas, Assistant General Manager for Charity Sector, led the distribution during the ceremony proper. Barangay Captain Jason Arriola received the items which will be handed out to residents of Barangay Bagongbayan, Jose Panganiban and expressed his gratitude to the PCSO.

Meanwhile, the PCSO successfully distributed a total of 2,000 Charitimba (food buckets) last 22 January benefitting residents of Rosario and Taysan in Batangas province. It also distributed 1,000 ‘ChariTimba’ to residents of San Rafael, Bulacan in a ceremony at the Victory Coliseum last 24 January.
