A middle-aged public servant from Iloilo won ₱18,445,722.00 in the Superlotto 6/49 drawn last 2 January, 2025. The winning combination — 19, 48, 15, 11, 07, 24 — was inspired by the birthdays of his family members, a combination of numbers he has continued to bet on since he began playing the lotto in 1999.
The lucky winner, who lives with his parents, expressed overwhelming gratitude for this remarkable turn of events.
“Every time I place a bet, I do it with hope, but this win is beyond anything I ever imagined,” he said during his visit to the PCSO Main Office.
When asked about his plans, the winner shared his desire to secure his family’s future.
“Unahin ko muna po ang pagpapagawa ng aming bahay at ang paglalaan ng savings para sa aking mga magulang. Sila po ang inspirasyon ko sa lahat ng ito (I will prioritize renovating our house and setting up savings for my parents. They are my inspiration.),” he said.
Despite his win, he plans to continue working in public service, emphasizing, “Ang pagiging lingkod-bayan ay nasa puso ko (Being a public servant is in my heart).”
To claim lotto prizes, winners must sign the back of their winning ticket and present two valid government-issued IDs for verification. A 20% tax applies to prizes exceeding ₱10,000.00 in accordance with the TRAIN Law. Under RA 1169, lotto prizes must be claimed within one (1) year from the draw date at the PCSO Main Office in Shaw Boulevard, Mandaluyong City.
