Meaty mistake

After five years of an opendoor policy, Starbucks cafes are accommodating only paying patrons.
Officials of the cafe reasoned that they want to enhance the customer experience.
“Implementing a coffeehouse code of conduct is something most retailers have already done and it is a practical step that helps us prioritize our paying customers who want to sit and enjoy our cafes or need to use the restroom during their visit,” said Starbucks’ director of corporate communications Jaci Anderson, according to ABC News.
In an announcement made through news media last week, starting 27 January people who do not make a purchase will no longer be allowed to sit and stay at coffee shop locations in the United States.
Meanwhile, in an effort to draw in new customers, Sage Regenerative Kitchen & Brewery, a 14-year-old popular California vegan restaurant chain, introduced bison burgers, cheese and other different fare. The chain had been struggling financially so it tried a new tact.
Instead of drawing in new customers, however, the enhanced menu upset the regular vegan diners. They protested and slammed the eatery’s decision by giving the restaurant one-star reviews.
On 5 January, owner Mollie Engelhart announced the closure of Sage Regenerative Kitchen & Brewery.
