Senator Christopher "Bong" Go expressed his solidarity with the participants and organizers of the annual Sinulog Festival in Cebu City on Sunday, celebrating the revered Santo Niño. The senator, along with thousands of devotees and tourists, participated in the Grand Parade, which culminated in a Grand Finale and Fireworks display at the Cebu City Sports Center.

In an interview, Go expressed his joy in experiencing Cebu's vibrant culture, and reiterated his commitment to supporting Cebuanos and all Filipinos.

"Happy Sinulog Festival po sa lahat. Bilang isa ring Bisaya, nandito lang ako parati para sa ating mga kababayan. Maraming salamat sa inyong pagtitiwala sa akin. Patuloy akong pagseserbisyo sa inyo at masaya ako na mag-Sinulog kasama kayo. Pit Senyor!” Go said.

Go also took the opportunity to bring government services closer to Cebuanos through various initiatives. Earlier that day, as Chairperson of the Senate Committee on Health and Demography, he led the inauguration of a Super Health Center in Moalboal, Cebu. The facility provides primary care, medical consultations, and early disease detection, aiming to reduce the burden on larger hospitals by addressing healthcare needs at the community level.

In addition to the Super Health Center, Go visited the Malasakit Center at the Vicente Sotto Memorial Medical Center (VSMMC) in Cebu City. He inspected its operations and reaffirmed his commitment to improving healthcare services for the province.

Go and his Malasakit team also provided support to patients, health workers, and hospital staff at both locations. As Vice Chairperson of the Senate Committee on Finance, Go highlighted several development projects he has supported in Cebu City, including the rehabilitation and expansion of the Barangay Multi-Purpose Building Area in Barangay Duljo Fatima and the construction of a Multi-Purpose Building in Bahay Silangan.

For Cebu province, Go has also supported various projects, such as the rehabilitation and concreting of farm-to-market roads in Alcantara, Balamban, Borbon, and Medellin, as well as the construction and renovation of public markets and multi-purpose buildings in various towns.

Go emphasized his dedication to serving the public: "Hinding-hindi ko po sasayangin ‘yung pagkakataong ibinigay n’yo po sa akin. Magtatrabaho po ako para sa Pilipino. At iyan po ang pwede kong i-alay sa inyo, ang aking bisyo sa pagseserbisyo,” Go said.

The Sinulog Festival remains one of the Philippines' most anticipated religious and cultural events, drawing thousands of participants each year.
