Several operators and drivers from the Sauyo Transportation Corporation gathered to voice their concerns over the challenges they face under the Public Transport Modernization Program.
The assembly, led by operators Michael Ang and Ronald Iglesias, took place along Quirino Highway.
They explained that they have been unable to work for four days after being prohibited from operating by their chairman.
More than 30 units had been grounded due to the suspension, forcing some drivers and operators to borrow money just to meet their daily needs.
The affected drivers and operators are appealing for assistance from government agencies, particularly the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board, the Department of Transportation, and local government units, so they can resume their livelihood. JD
