Transport network company (TNC), inDrive, on Thursday, announced that they are eyeing to increase their number of drivers by 30 to 40 percent by this year, adding to its more than 13,000 current number of drivers.
In a media interview in Makati City on Thursday, Mark Tolley, inDrive’s Regional APAC director, disclosed that for 2025, they will strive to attain 5,000 to 11,000 drivers to its platform from the total 60,000 slots provided by the Land Transportation and Franchising Regulatory Board.
“So, if we look for the rest of 2025 in the Philippines, we (really) want to focus on improving our growth within the existing cities and we are also looking at more regions and more cities to expand in the next few months,” Tolley said.
Tolley stressed that they see the Philippines as “one of the cornerstones of our strategy for 2025 and beyond.”
“If we look over the next four or five years, we are looking at a compound growth rate of more than seven percent within this industry here in the Philippines,” Tolley maintained.
He also said that aside from Metro Manila, Bacolod, Baguio, Iloilo, Butuan, Cagayan de Oro and Cebu, they are eyeing to open operations in Davao City and Pampanga this year.
For her part, Sofia Guinto, inDrive’s Business Development head, said to date, the TNC company has more than 25,000 active app users.
Last year, inDrive reported that it had garnered over 240 million app downloads; it has likewise been ranked second most downloaded mobility app in 2022 and 2023.
The drive app leverages a unique 10 percent commission model compared to its competitor 20 to 25 percent, fostering competitive pricing that benefits both drivers and passengers.
inDrive currentlly operates in 46 countries and 749 cities in the world.
