First Lady Liza Araneta-Marcos, accompanied by President Ferdinand Marcos Jr., sampled dishes from restaurants recognized by the prestigious Michelin Guide during its formal announcement at the Manila Marriott Hotel in Pasay City on Thursday night.

Mrs. Marcos toured the venue and savored a selection of dishes by top Filipino chefs.

In its second Philippine edition, Michelin inspectors noted growing confidence, diversity, and a distinct culinary identity among restaurants across Manila, Cebu, Pampanga and Cavite.

For 2027, the Michelin Guide Philippines recognized 127 establishments, up from 108 in its inaugural 2026 selection, a 19-establishment increase.

According to the Michelin Guide, the latest selection reflects a deepening of the country’s culinary landscape rather than rapid expansion, highlighting the continued development and diversity of the country’s dining scene.

At the top of the list, Helm retained its two Michelin Stars. At the same time, eight restaurants maintained their one Michelin Star distinctions: Asador Alfonso (Cavite), Celera (Makati), Gallery by Chele (Taguig), Hapag (Makati), Inatô (Makati), Kása Palma (Makati), Linamnam (Parañaque) and Toyo Eatery (Makati).

Rising star discovered

Makati-based fine dining restaurant Flow has joined the Michelin roster. The 2027 selection also recognized 31 establishments with the coveted Michelin Bib Gourmand distinction for great food at affordable prices, six more than the 25 awardees in the previous edition.

Eight establishments are newcomers to the category, while two were promoted to the group.

Meanwhile, 86 establishments earned Michelin Selected recognition, up from 74 in 2026, with 18 new additions to the list.

In his speech, President Marcos assured that his administration will continue to improve the infrastructure and air and sea connectivity to make Philippine destinations more accessible, given the growing interest in Philippine cuisine and hospitality.
