Flag-carrier Philippine Airlines (PAL) on Friday announced it has once again been recognized as one of the top 10 most punctual airlines in the Asia-Pacific region for 2024.
The only Philippine carrier to achieve this distinction, PAL climbed one spot from its 2023 ranking, securing the seventh position in the Cirium On-Time Performance Report.
The report analyzed nearly 112,000 flights across PAL’s global network, revealing an on-time arrival performance of 76.06 percent as the airline achieved the top spot as the most punctual airline in January 2024 with an on-time record of 86.85 percent.
“This on-time performance milestone is a testament to the tremendous efforts of our employees, service partners and industry stakeholders,” said Capt. Stanley K. Ng, PAL president and chief operating officer.
“It validates the long-term investments we are making in improving reliability and efficiency in all our operations, always prioritizing safety in line with Philippine Airlines’ uncompromising safety culture,” he added.
Ng stressed that PAL’s seventh-place ranking surpasses the performance of most Southeast Asian, Chinese, Korean, and Australian airlines. The 2024 top 10 list included carriers from Australia, Japan, New Zealand, Indonesia, Thailand, Singapore, Vietnam and Hong Kong.
