ANGELES CITY, Pampanga — A Korean national was arrested for selling illegal drugs during a buy-bust operation in a bar in this city Thursday.
According to Mayor Carmelo “Pogi” Lazatin, the Angeles City Police Office (ACPO) headed by Chief of Police Col. Amado Mendoza apprehended 30-year-old Korean Heetai Chai aka Henry, after selling suspected ketamine to an undercover operative.
The operation was conducted inside Octagon Bar on Don Juico Avenue, Barangay Anunas, resulting in the arrest of Chai and the apprehension of more or less 30 grams of suspected ketamine, valued at approximately P150,000.
The operation also led to the recovery of marked bills and boodle money used during the transaction.
Lazatin, in response to the illegal activities happening in the establishment, directed the Business Permit and Licensing Division headed by Enrico Romero to immediately stop the operations of Octagon Bar.
This directive was carried out by Vice Mayor Vicenta "Vicky" Vega-Cabigting, who acted on Lazatin’s behalf as the acting mayor.
