Authorities apprehended a 28-year-old suspect and seized an estimated P30.6 million worth of suspected ‘shabu’ during a joint anti-drug operation by the Philippine National Police (PNP) and the Philippine Drug Enforcement Agency (PDEA) in Mandaue City, Cebu.
In a statement released on Sunday, PDEA said the suspect, identified as ‘Kent’ and a resident of Barangay Pasil, Cebu City, was arrested during a buy-bust operation on Logarta Street, Subangdaku, Mandaue City, at 7:38 p.m. on Friday.
The joint operation led to the recovery of nine packets of suspected shabu, weighing about 4.5 kilograms, with an estimated street value of P30.6 million.
The suspect is currently detained at the Mandaue City Police Station and faces charges of violating Republic Act 9165, or the Comprehensive Dangerous Drugs Act.
Meanwhile, the confiscated illegal drugs have been turned over to the PNP Regional Forensic Unit for chemical analysis and proper handling.
