Cebu Pacific has taken a significant step toward sustainability by transitioning two of its key facilities to 100 percent renewable energy (RE). This move underscores the airline's commitment to decarbonizing its operations.

In collaboration with ACEN Renewable Energy Solutions (ACEN RES), Cebu Pacific has shifted its APlus and AirJuan buildings to RE. These facilities, critical to the airline's maintenance, ground handling, and catering operations, are now fully powered by clean energy.

“This shift to clean energy is an important component of further reducing our emissions, in this case, those generated from the use of electricity in our buildings and facilities. Partnering with ACEN also allows us to take advantage of the benefits of the Green Energy Option Program of the Department of Energy including cost savings for Cebu Pacific and supporting the country’s goal to boost renewable energy supply,” said Felix Lopez, CEB Chief Human Resources Officer.

The partnership with ACEN RES aligns with Cebu Pacific’s broader decarbonization initiatives, which include operating a modern and fuel-efficient all-NEO fleet, implementing fuel-saving practices, optimizing flight routes, and electrifying ground support equipment.

ACEN RES Vice President Sheila Mina highlighted the collaboration’s significance: “We are delighted to partner with Cebu Pacific to support their commitment to sustainable aviation. By providing renewable energy solutions, we are enabling Cebu Pacific to reduce its carbon emissions and operate more efficiently."
