With the 50th Metro Manila Film Festival (MMFF) kicking off with a vibrant Parade of Stars that snaked through the city that culminated in a grand celebration at the Manila Central Post Office, the #107Angkasangga Partylist has expressed its full support to the country’s filmfest tradition.

Angkasangga took part in the Parade of Stars that kicked off around 3 p.m. from the Kartilya ng Katipunan near Manila City Hall, culminating to the Manila Central Post Office Building in Lawton.

George Royeca of the #107Angkasangga Partylist expressed his enthusiasm for the festival.

“Watching Filipino films during the MMFF is a special tradition for every Filipino family,” Royeca said.

Royeca, who represents the informal sector, also expressed support for films like And the Breadwinner Is, which highlight the contributions of everyday Filipinos.

“We are here to support the film industry where many are part of the informal sector that we represent. The real breadwinners of the family,” said Royeca as he expressed gratitude to MMFF organizers for the opportunity to participate in the Parade of Stars.

“We thank the organizers of the MMFF 50 for the opportunity and honor to be part of the MMFF Parade of Stars. Mabuhay ang Pelikulang Pilipino,” Royeca said.

Meantime, Manila Mayor Honey Lacuna-Servo and Vice Mayor Yul Servo urged the public to patronize the ten Filipino films competing in the festival, which runs from 25 December 2024 to 7 January 2025.
