It’s a double blow for an inmate in Navotas City Jail as he faces a fresh arrest warrant from Sorsogon.
Members of the District Anti-Carnapping Unit of the Northern Police District (DACU-NPD) and the District Mobile Force Battalion of the Northern Police District (DMFB-NPD) filed the arrest warrant on the case of murder against the suspect.
The arrest warrant was served last Monday morning, 9 December.
Judge Erwin Fortes Honra of Branch 65 of the Regional Trial Court in Bulan, Sorsogon issued the warrant of arrest last April 2024 for the crime of murder.
The newly filed arrest warrant is non-bailable.
According to Police Staff Sergeant Mark Jeffrey Fuensalida of the Northern Police District, the suspect, known by the alias "Tupe," is also facing an additional lawsuit, which was the reason for his incarceration.
The team has reached out to Police Colonel Mario Cortes, the head of the Navotas City Police, but has not yet received a response regarding the matter.
Based on the police report, "Tupe" was previously involved in a Violation Against Women and their Children (VAWC) complaint, stemming from an incident in 2017 where he allegedly hit a group of minors. However, the case did not prosper.
