The Department of Education (DepEd) has welcomed the directive of President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. to provide a P20,000 service recognition incentive for public school teachers and non-teaching personnel.
Education Secretary Sonny Angara expressed gratitude to the President for increasing the service recognition incentive from P18,000 to P20,000, benefiting an estimated 1,011,800 DepEd personnel.
“We thank President Marcos Jr. for his unparalleled dedication to uplifting the welfare of our teachers and personnel. His genuine concern for education and his heart for our teachers have once again prioritized the needs of those shaping the future of our nation,” Angara said.
The DepEd chief also affirmed his commitment to work closely with the Department of Budget and Management (DBM) Secretary Amenah Pangandaman to ensure the swift and successful implementation of the increased service recognition incentive while adhering to fiscal policies.
Pangandaman and the DBM will look into the necessary funding mechanisms to finalize the implementation process and release of funds for the service recognition incentive.
