Woodworker creates quality doors entirely by hand
Francis Amorin, 61, hands already calloused from years of carving wood, meticulously crafts a custom-made wooden door along Commonwealth Avenue in Quezon City on Tuesday, 10 December 2024. Originally from Cebu, and a woodworker since he was in elementary, Amorin shared that he earns an average of P2,000 per day. His neighbor and friend, who owns the business, sells each door for P14,000. Amorin uses wood from an Apitong tree for his craft and does every door entirely by hand, completing each piece in two days.
