The Facebook page “An Ounce of Kindness for Catanduanes” (AOKC) is a donation drive for victims of super typhoon “Pepito” which devastated many communities in the Bicol province. BDO Foundation Inc. (BFI) supported the fundraiser by donating 5,000 foodpacks.

Barangay Pandan received 1,154 bags; Barangay Balangonan, 380; Barangay Oga, 323; Barangay San Andres, 186; Barangay Catamban, 179; and Barangay San Rafael, 86.

BFI president Mario A. Deriquito received a letter from AOKC and responded promptly. Dr. Raul Borbor and Ma. Remons Emerenciana Tabirara provided the truck that carried BFI’s donations while Lorena Isorena Emerenciana and Mark Jordan Antonio Isorena organized the distribution with help from friends, relatives, barangay officials and other volunteers.

“The sacrifice, time and help you provided served as guide and strength for those who faced tough challenge. The real essence of cooperation again was shown through simple acts of goodness,” AOKC said in its post.

The beneficiaries of the foodpacks include families whose homes were damaged or destroyed, as well as individuals who lost their livelihoods due to the typhoon’s impact.
