Pharmally Biological and Pharmaceutical Company is not a sister company of the controversial Pharmally Pharmaceutical Corp., which is currently under investigation by the House Quad Committee.
This clarification was made by businesswoman and politician Rose Nono Lin, owner of the now-defunct Pharmally Biological, during her recent appearance before the Quad Committee. She stated that she is neither an official nor a shareholder of the controversial pharmaceutical company.
Nono-Lin emphasized that Pharmally Biological was a separate and distinct entity from Pharmally Pharmaceutical.
She made a similar statement before the Senate Blue Ribbon Committee in 2021 during its investigation of the P8 billion contract awarded to Pharmally Pharmaceutical for providing medical supplies to the Duterte administration’s Covid-19 response, despite the company having only P625,000 in paid-up capital.
“I have no involvement in the operations of Pharmally Pharmaceutical Corp. Pharmally Biological is a different entity and has no shares or stocks with Pharmally Pharmaceutical,” Nono-Lin explained.
“I am just an ordinary citizen and businesswoman making a living in a legal and fair manner. All the accusations against me and my family were purely hearsay,” she added in a statement.
Documents have shown that Nono-Lin’s husband, Lin Wei Xiong, a Hong Kong national, is the financial manager of Pharmally Pharmaceutical and a close associate of former presidential adviser Michael Yang, who provided financing to the company.
However, Nono-Lin’s lawyers pointed out that these documents do not prove that Pharmally Biological and Pharmally Pharmaceutical are sister companies, nor do they show that Lin is an official or shareholder of Pharmally Pharmaceutical or has a contract with the government.
While it was acknowledged that Lin’s husband and Yang were partners in some business ventures, Nono-Lin’s counsel stressed that this does not prove any wrongdoing.
