Globally, the Philippines landed at the 33rd spot on the security survey.

The Philippines had been named the third safest Southeast Asian Country in the 2023 Global Law and Order Report of the Washington-based analytics and advisory firm, Gallup.
The country garnered an index score of 86 that put it just behind Vietnam, with 92; and Indonesia, with 90.
Globally, the Philippines landed at the 33rd spot on the security survey.
The Philippine National Police took credit for the country’s placement in the study, with its chief, General Benjamin Acorda Jr., saying the police remained committed to “serve and protect.”
“This is something,” Acorda told reporters after the donning of ranks of top police officials in Western Mindanao in Camp Crame, Quezon City.
“When a place is deemed safe, it adds up to the considerations of investors and tourists whether to invest or not,” the PNP chief said.
During the event, P/Maj. Gen. Jonnel Estomo was promoted to the three-star rank of lieutenant general, and P/Brig Gen. Ronald Lee was elevated to major general.
“We are honored and humbled by the Filipino people’s trust in us. The PNP remains steadfast in our commitment to serve and protect,” Acorda said.
“This report serves as a guiding beacon for us to continue our mission of ensuring the well-being of our communities,” said Acorda.
Prior to his appointment as PNP Directorial Staff chief, Estomo served as director of the National Capital Region Police Office.
Acorda expressed his confidence in the capabilities of the promoted officers, urging them to wear their stars with pride and humility and to serve with honor, integrity, and an unwavering pursuit of justice.
“To the families of the newly promoted officers, your crucial role in supporting and enabling our officers to focus on their duties with dedication and commitment is acknowledged and appreciated,” Acorda expressed.
